US cups vs 250 mL metric and Australian cups
A US customary cup is approximately 236.588 mL. Metric recipe references commonly use a 250 mL cup, and Australian recipes commonly use a 250 mL cup as well. Because the volume is larger, the same ingredient generally has a slightly larger gram weight per 250 mL cup than per US cup.
