Minimum Wage by State Calculator 2026
Choose a state to see its general minimum-wage baseline and estimate gross weekly or annual pay. Rates are based on the U.S. Department of Labor table effective July 1, 2026.
What this calculator uses
The U.S. Department of Labor’s consolidated state table reports the general minimum wage in each state and identifies states where the federal $7.25 minimum applies to FLSA-covered workers because state law is lower or absent. A few states have multiple statewide rates depending on region, employer size, or another statutory category; those options are shown separately.
This is a baseline reference, not a wage-law determination for a specific job. Local minimum wages, industry rules, tipped-worker rules, youth/student provisions, training wages, exemptions, collective bargaining agreements, and scheduled increases can change the legally required rate.
Federal baseline
The federal minimum wage remains $7.25 per hour for covered nonexempt employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Where an applicable state minimum is higher, the higher state rate generally controls.
