GSA Per Diem Calculator

Estimate an overnight CONUS trip using the applicable GSA lodging and meals & incidental expenses (M&IE) rates for FY 2026 or FY 2027.

Changing fiscal year loads that year’s standard CONUS lodging rate.

Standard: $110 in FY 2026; $113 in FY 2027. Enter the official locality rate when different.

CONUS M&IE tiers remain $68–$92 in FY 2026 and FY 2027.

How to use this calculator

Use GSA’s official per diem lookup to find the lodging and M&IE rates for the traveler’s destination and fiscal year, then enter those rates here. The calculator adds lodging and M&IE and can apply the federal first/last-day M&IE rule.

Standard CONUS rates

FY 2026: standard lodging $110; standard M&IE $68. Effective October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026.

FY 2027: standard lodging $113; standard M&IE $68. Effective October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.

Non-standard areas may have higher lodging and M&IE rates. Look up the official GSA rate for a destination.

Calculation method

  • Lodging = lodging rate × lodging nights.
  • Full-rate M&IE = M&IE rate × eligible travel days.
  • When first/last-day treatment is enabled, the first and last travel days use 75% of the M&IE rate.
  • Total estimate = lodging + M&IE.

Important limits

This tool estimates maximum per diem from the rates you enter. Actual reimbursement can be lower because of provided meals, agency policy, lodging taxes, actual-expense authorization, trip circumstances, or other Federal Travel Regulation rules.

This calculator covers CONUS-style lodging and M&IE inputs and does not automatically retrieve locality rates. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and foreign travel use other rate authorities.
