How it works
For each course, multiply grade points by credits. Add those quality points, then divide by total credits: GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits.

Worked examples
- A 4.0 course worth 3 credits contributes 12 quality points.
- Courses of 4.0×3 credits and 3.0×3 credits produce a GPA of 3.5 across 6 credits.

Common questions
Does this assume a 4.0 scale?
No. It calculates from the numeric grade-point values you enter, so use the scale defined by your institution.
What if a course has no credits?
Leave unused rows blank. A completed row needs positive credits to contribute to the GPA.
Does every school use this exact grading policy?
No. The arithmetic is general, but grade-point scales, weighting rules and rounding policies can vary by institution. Compare the inputs and method with your school’s rules.
Can I use decimal scores or credits?
Yes where your institution permits them. The calculator accepts decimal values and applies the displayed weighting formula.
