Mass and weight terminology
The kilogram is the SI base unit of mass. In everyday product, food and body-weight contexts, pounds, ounces and kilograms are often described as weight units. These Solveberry pages convert the numerical unit values; they do not calculate gravitational force. A fluid ounce is a volume unit, not an avoirdupois mass ounce; use the mL-to-fluid-ounces calculator for liquid volume.
