Exact factors vs displayed decimals
The inch, international foot and international mile are defined using exact metric relationships. A calculator may still display a rounded decimal for readability; rounding the display does not change the underlying factor.
Practical examples
- 25.4 mm = exactly 1 inch.
- 100 cm ≈ 39.3701 inches.
- 1 meter ≈ 3.28084 feet.
- 44.7 km ≈ 27.7750 miles.
